Finland to participate in NATO Steadfast Noon nuclear exercise for the first time

Finland will participate for the first time in NATO’s Steadfast Noon nuclear exercise, which will take place from October 14 to 24. This is reported by the Ilta-Sanomat newspaper.

It should be noted that only Finnish pilots will participate in the exercises.

“Finland will participate for the first time in October in the famous NATO exercise Steadfast Noon: nuclear weapons. This topic circulated in the media, but there was no reliable information. The exercise will last two weeks in the airspace of Great Britain, Denmark and the Netherlands. There is no precise information on what role Finland should play.

NATO’s military deterrent ultimately relies on nuclear weapons. Finland is already involved in nuclear deterrence through design and development in NATO working groups. Finland’s accession process does not impose restrictions on participation in nuclear exercises,” the publication writes, citing the Pool No. 3 telegram channel.
