The Palma Intermodal Station was evacuated after a fire broke out inside the facilities. Apparently, the fire started in a trash can when some young people blew up a lighter. The fire was detected around 9:15 p.m. and the evacuation of the facilities was immediately ordered. Two fire trucks and several local police units arrived immediately on the scene.
Currently, about 200 people remain outside the station waiting to be allowed to enter, although the train service has been suspended. At the time of the fire, two train journeys were in progress. The bus passengers were directed to leave the station.
According to initial reports, there were no injuries.
Other information indicates that, in parallel with the fire, the presence of a suspicious suitcase was detected, which is currently being analyzed by members of the TEDAX Group (Technicians specializing in the neutralization of explosives and munitions).
