The fire broke out yesterday evening at 9:30 p.m. in a transformation center of the aforementioned underpass.
A fire in a processing center in the Cuatro Torres tunnel, located on Paseo de la Castellana, forced the closure of access to the aforementioned underpass and the evacuation of the Caleido shopping center.
A total of six fire teams from Madrid City Hall and two command cars worked to extinguish the fire, which broke out this evening, around 9:30 p.m., in an area with electrical panels. In the end, the situation was already under control. According to Madrid Emergency Services, no injuries have been reported.
In the Quatre Tours business park
The tunnel, which remained closed at midnight due to smoke starting to come out, is located in the large Four Towers business park, built on the grounds of the former Real Madrid Sports City. The four towers are the Foster Tower, the PwC Tower (formerly Sacyr Vallehermoso), the Crystal Tower and the Emperador Castellana Tower, formerly known as the Espacio Tower. Next to them stands a fifth building, Caleido, inaugurated in 2021.
Caleido, evacuated last night due to smoke caused by two premises, began construction in 2017. It has a height of 181 meters, which is divided into two spaces: a base of 20 meters and four floors and a tower of 161 meters and 36 sols.
