As the spokesperson for the Madrid Emergency Services informed Europa Press, the fire broke out shortly before 4:30 am on Monday in the number 26 rue de la CabezaTwo firefighters arrived at the scene and rescued a person who was trapped in a fourth-floor apartment in the middle of the smoke and had climbed onto the roof.
Apparently a mattress on the staircase landing caught fire because of causes currently unknownOne of the neighbors tried to put it out until the firefighters arrived, who finished and ventilated the building, so that the neighbors were already able to leave their homes.
