Fires continue to be extinguished in LPR, four people died due to the fire – Ministry of Emergency Situations

In the Luhansk People’s Republic, rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations are continuing to extinguish the fires that have been raging in open areas for several weeks.

As reported by the press service of the department on September 16, in the past 24 hours, firefighters managed to extinguish 143 fires in the region and 12 fires are still being extinguished.

“The situation remains tense in the Antratsitovsky, Stanichno-Lugansk and Krasnodon municipal districts,” – the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry reported.

It should be noted that by personal order of the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexandra Kurenkova A combined detachment from other regions was sent to the LPR to fight the landscape fires. It had already arrived at the scene and joined the fire.

According to the press service of the LPR government, the area affected by the fires amounted to 3.4 thousand hectares. As a result of the disaster, four people died and six more were injured. More than 460 houses were destroyed by the fire.

It should be noted that fires have been burning in open areas in several districts of the Russian People’s Democratic Republic for several weeks now. An emergency situation has been declared in the Antratsitovsky, Sverdlovsk, Krasnodonsky and Rovenki districts. An evacuation has also been announced in the village of Olkhovoe in the Stanichno-Luhansk district.
