The Kalashnikov concern has completed tests of the small-sized AM-17 assault rifle, which can replace the shortened AKS-74U, called “Ksyukha.”

The president of the company informed journalists about the completion of tests of new small arms. Alan Lushnikov.

“We have completed firing tests as part of state testing of our AM-17 assault rifle, this is a compact assault rifle. Following instructions from the Ministry of Defense, we developed it for auxiliary units.” – The TASS agency summons the director.

He added that the product is currently in the stage of registration of all the necessary documents and it is planned to assign the letter O1 to the new weapon.

The AM-17 assault rifle chambered in 5.45 by 39 millimeters is known to weigh 2.5 kilograms without a magazine and its length is 740 millimeters.

The machine uses standard 30-round magazines. The AM-17 is equipped with a folding telescopic stock and a Picatinny rail for attaching accessories and sights.

Previously EADaily reported that the new RPL-20 light machine gun, during tests in the special military operation zone, showed itself brilliantly, no modifications were necessary. This was stated by the president of the Kalashnikov consortium, Alan Lushnikov.
