The Bourget Air and Space Museum (Seine-Saint-Denis)
If your children have a dual fascination with airplanes and rockets, they will be enchanted by this museum created one hundred and five years ago, at the beginning of aviation, and located on the historic site of Le Bourget airport. Be careful with neck pain because everything is huge and requires keeping your nose up! A room dedicated to the conquest of space highlights the first objects placed in orbit around the Earth. The rest of the exhibition presents mockups of the first rocket models and tells the story of man’s first steps on the Moon. Enough to feed the often insatiable curiosity of the youngest.
But above all, it is Planète Pilote, the space for children aged 6 to 12, which will allow them to immerse themselves in a fun way in these two worlds of air and space. The future Thomas Pesquets will be able to familiarize himself with life aboard the International Space Station thanks to a simplified reproduction of the places. In wetsuits or on a bicycle, they will believe they are astronauts on a mission. The museum grounds also house a planetarium where films about the constellations or the Solar System are shown for children over 6 years old. Finally, for families with small children, the Cocon, a space for children under 4 years old, allows you to take a break.

The permanent exhibition “Space Mission” offered by the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie is a rich and erudite journey through the history of planetary exploration. Divided into five thematic parts: exploration, journey, transit, stay and questioning, this exhibition guides curious minds towards unknown territories. In one hour of visit and without leaving 7 p.m.my district of the capital, little visitors can set foot on the lunar soil, witness the takeoff of a rocket or observe up close a space suit, a true astronaut’s shell that protects them from radiation or extreme temperatures. If the exhibition is aimed at children of at least 8 years old, the little ones will be able to feed their imagination thanks to the models and the relevant and original videos that dot the thousand square meters of exhibition.
