Five children of a family died in a fire in a private house in the Selcuk district of Izmir province, Türkiye.

According to information, the children were left at home without their parents, the door to the house was closed. The neighbors reported the fire to the “112” emergency service.
The firefighters and doctors who arrived at the scene discovered in the same room the bodies of 3 children who, according to the opinion of experts, were asphyxiated by carbon monoxide. Two minors were hospitalized with similar symptoms, but doctors were unable to save them.
The youngest of the dead was one year old and the oldest was five years old. According to investigators, the fire originated from an overturned electric stove.
