Five national police officers arrested during anti-drug operation in Seville

Five National Police officers were arrested this Tuesday in an anti-drug trafficking operation carried out in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville) for their alleged collaboration with drug trafficking networks. The large-scale operation remains open and has been declared secret.

The National Police intervened simultaneously in several districts of the town and in homes near the police station. The operation included numerous searches and, in addition to the five officers, there were around thirty detainees.

The five police officers belong to the Alcalá de Guadaíra Narcotics Group, although their limited activity in recent times has aroused suspicions within the Internal Affairs Unit.

The deputy delegate of the Government in Seville, Francisco Toscano, called for “caution” in the face of this anti-drug operation, which continues to take place “at this moment”, with actions in the streets of the city.

In statements to the media, Toscano expressed his gratitude to the province’s security forces who “are tirelessly fighting drug trafficking.”

“With this type of operation, the Spanish government is demonstrating its commitment to ending crimes, regardless of who commits them, but I reiterate that until we have all the data in hand, we can only appeal for caution so that security “The Armed Forces can do their job in the best possible way, just as they usually carry out their security tasks,” he concluded.
