five people arrested for throwing seats

Ultras continue to leave embarrassing images in football. If, a few days ago, the Madrid derby of Metropolitan had to stop due to the throwing of several objects at Courtois, this Thursday the match of Europa League between the Real Sociedad and Anderlecht experienced another embarrassing episode.

The Belgian team’s most radical supporters sowed chaos within it Anoeta and they even forced the crash to stop for a few minutes. The visiting ultras, located at the top of the stadium, managed to break a methacrylate screen and throw seats and various objects into the lower stands.

In some horrifying images you can see how several of these ultras tear off the seats from the area of ​​the stadium they were in and throw them angrily towards the lower area, where the Real Sociedad supporters were.

Home fans had to leave in terror to avoid being hit and suffering serious physical damage. These embarrassing incidents resulted in five arrests by the Ertzaintza.

The events took place approximately half an hour after the start of the match. Seeing the chaos that was occurring in the stands and the movement of the public that was taking place towards other parts of the stadium, the match was stopped. Even several Anderlecht players went to this area of ​​the pitch to try to ask for calm from their most radical supporters.

Local supporters, affected by this wild attitude of the Belgian ultras, requested a move from the stadium to be able to continue watching the match. Its integrity was seriously threatened, some seats having been violently overturned.

What happened sparked outrage among Real Sociedad players. Mikel Oyarzabal was very critical of these embarrassing incidents at the end of the match: “You can’t come to football to be an asshole like these idiots did,” declared the San Sebastian captain.

Additionally, there was a confrontation between Real Sociedad players and Anderlecht players after the final whistle. The Belgian players went to celebrate the victory with these ultras who had caused panic, for which the San Sebastian footballers took it upon themselves to bitterly reproach them.
