Five people have been arrested in the capital Valladolid as suspected perpetrators of a hate crime after attacking “without saying a word” two people of opposing ideology who were wearing a t-shirt, as reported this Thursday, September 19, by the National Police.
The detainees are linked to ultra football groups and some also have incidents related to violence in the sport.
The events occurred in the early hours of August 28 in a nightclub located in the city center where, according to the same police sources, two boys were attacked “without saying a word” and “solely for wearing a T-shirt.” -shirt with the inscription ‘always antifa, Valladolid’.
As the same police sources explain, investigators weighed from the first moment the possibility that it was an attack with ideological motivation, which led to classifying it as a hate crime, an investigative line that was later confirmed and which led to the arrest of five men, “all linked to ultra football groups, some of whom have been involved in incidents related to violence in sport.”
They were charged with a crime related to the exercise of fundamental rights and public freedoms, commonly known as hate crime. And after the release of the detainees, the corresponding report was sent to the competent judicial authority, for acts punishable by two years in prison, recalls the Police.
