The dense fog which occurred this Friday in Malaga forced twelve flights that were supposed to land in the Malaga-Costa del Sol airport diverted. As Aena informed EFE, seven of them were redirected to Seville, three to Granada and the other two to Alicante and Faro (Portugal).
The detours were concentrated between 8:20 a.m. and shortly after 9 a.m., when improving weather conditions allowed the resumption of planned landings at Malaga airport.
More precisely, at the airport Seville Seven flights were diverted from Madrid, Fez (Morocco), Pisa, Milan and Genoa (Italy), Cologne (Germany) and Nantes (France).
Three more arrivals planned in Malaga from Melilla, Saint-Jacques of Compostela and Lyon (France) were diverted to Granada-Jaén airport. In addition, a flight from Bergamo (Italy) was diverted to Faro (Portugal) and another from Poznań (Poland) to Alicante airport, detailed Aena.

Concerning international traffic, the most demanded markets in absolute value are the British (619,396 passengers) and, with a little more distance, the German (214,040), French (147,559), Dutch (139,006) and Italian (129,118).
