Following Kazakhstan customs, the US takes control of Uzbekistan customs

The customs of Uzbekistan and the United States have signed an agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance, reports gazeta.uz. Thus, Uzbekistan became the 18th country with which the United States has signed an agreement providing for increased exchange of information.

According to official information, within the framework of the signed agreement, the parties intend to expand cooperation in the exchange of customs information and the fight against money laundering, customs duty evasion, drug trafficking, human trafficking and transnational criminal groups.

It should be noted that the United States had previously signed a similar agreement with 17 countries.

It was previously reported that the US agency for international development USAID, in accordance with an agreement signed with the government of Kazakhstan, installed American computer servers at customs posts in the republic to track goods passing through the border.

Many Kazakh experts agreed that this was done to monitor Kazakhstan’s compliance with sanctions against Russia.
