Scandal in England and shock among Arsenal fans. The striker of Gunners Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, 33 years oldwas arrested and charged with importing drugs after it was seized 60,000 pounds of hashish at Stansted Airport.
Greenock attacker Morton was arrested at 8am Wednesday after British Border Force officers found the drugs in several suitcases that arrived in the UK on a flight from Bangkok, Thailand, on September 2.
According to the National Crime Agency (NCA), approximately 60 kilos of drugs in two suitcases. NCA officers then arrested the footballer, who Arsene Wenger had described as a player of “exceptional quality”, and who is now charged with importing Class B drugs. The 33-year-old was arrested by police and is expected to appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on Thursday in relation to the charges.

According to the NCA, two women, aged 28 and 32, were also arrested at Stanstead Airport and charged with importing drugs. They were all granted the caution after appearing at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court and are due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on October 1.

Emmanuel-Thomas joins Arsenal youth ranks when he was eight years old, but failed to make much of an impact in the first team, making his Premier League debut in a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in 2010, before leaving the club to join Ipswich for just over £1m the following year.
