The price was last made official September 4th and the service was rated at 1,680 euros (without taxes). The Catarroja City Council appears directly as the contracting body and the contact person with the company is García herself, according to what appears on the public procurement platform, consulted by EL ESPAÑOL.

The mayor of Catarroja is the socialist Lorena SirventThe leader has been leading the municipality since the 2023 municipal elections after reaching an agreement with Compromís.

This is not the first time that Sirvent has used the services of its partner. Last March, the Catarroja City Council awarded García a contract worth 1,000 euros by a conference of the sociologist Carmen Ruiz RepulloAt that time, García was still director of the Women’s Institute.

Since mid-2022 and until the time of her dismissal, the invoicing of the companies of the former director of the Women’s Institute and her partner, PSOE advisor in the Senate during the last legislature, They have exceeded 250,000 euros thanks to carefully selected rewards.

The Purple Points are an instrument promoted by the Ministry of Equality to “involve society as a whole in the fight against gender-based violence and disseminate, on a large scale, the information necessary to know how to act in cases of violence against women.” They also serve as a support center for victims.

These information points are, for the most part, financed with money from equality policies promoted by the ministry, of which García Sánchez was a senior official.

These tents (sometimes just a table) are usually set up at local parties and also serve as a collection point to gather information about attempted sexual assaults during the nightlife.

direct subsidy

Most of the contracts awarded to the former director of the Women’s Institute are minor and direct concessions, like the one she recently obtained in Catarroja, so they do not need to present more offers: they are given by hand and that’s it.

On July 23, the Council of Ministers approved the dismissal of Isabel García, a leader close to the former minister. Jose Luis Abalosafter having benefited from contracts awarded by socialist administrations for the management of Purple Points and in programs linked to equality and feminism.

After a week in which the Minister for Equality, Ana Redondoasked for “time and humanity” so that Isabel García could give her explanations, the Council of Ministers ended up dismissing the director of the Women’s Institute due to the resounding evidence published exclusively by EL ESPAÑOL.

García’s term as head of the Women’s Institute did not last seven months and was plagued by controversy. First, for his views against the Trans Law and also for his business activities with his wife.

Both Popular parties like Podemos and even SumarPSOE partner in the coalition government, demanded his dismissal.

Isabel García, in her response to this newspaper, stated that she scrupulously complies with the law and that her companies – of which she became 8% after being appointed director of the Women’s Institute – did not enter into a conflict of interest with her position.
