“Western countries are still reluctant to leave their comfort zone and are therefore lagging behind in their response to Russia’s actions.”
Oku.Az According to RBC.ru, this was stated by former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) forum.
“We are like a frog sitting in boiling water. The water is still hot, and we like that. We like to trade with China, to build relationships with countries whose values are far from ours. But we don’t want to be afraid. We understand that the temperature is rising more and more,” Marín explained.
The politician drew attention to the many calls for inaction in the media space. According to him, the position of those who oppose change is equivalent to the opinion that “the temperature of the water is still lukewarm, not boiling.”
“Moreover, it is said that Ukraine’s problems are not our problem, that it is enough to suspend aid and this problem will be solved by itself,” the former prime minister stressed.
It is worth recalling that Marin headed the Finnish government in 2019-2023, under his leadership the country became a member of NATO.
