Italian football is in mourning. This Sunday morning, Cagliari, an Italian first division team, announced on its social networks the death of its former player. Andrea Capone at the age of 43.
According to local media, Capone was out in the evening with his friends and was returning to his hotel room when he had a violent blow to the head which ultimately caused his death. The medical services could do nothing to save his life.
This is how the club announced the death of Capone: “All of Cagliari Calcio receives with dismay and deep sadness the news of the death of Andrea Capone, who died at the age of only 43. The link with his homeland will remain impossible to break. a man who has always been characterized by his professionalism, dedication and passion“.
“Qualities that will remain in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him, to meet him on and off the playing field. Cagliari Calcio extends its arms to the family in this moment of deep pain. Rest in peace, Andrea“, concluded the club.
