Former ministers Montero and Belarra accuse Sánchez of corruption, genocide, racism and support for the rich

Podemos is back. And he does it by showing that he is ready to take advantage of the weakness of Pedro Sánchez’s government to sell him his support for the Congress of Deputies more dearly than ever.

During the Autumn School that the purple party is organizing this weekend at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, the main leaders of Podemos accused President Pedro Sánchez of complicity with the “genocide” of Palestine, of tolerance with the corruption of his party, supporting the “racism” of the European Commission towards immigrants and favoring vulture funds which make the real estate market more expensive.

If the star guest this Saturday was Jeremy Corbyn, expelled from the British Labor Party for his anti-Semitic positions, the climax will come tomorrow, Sunday, when former vice-president Pablo Iglesias will take care of closing the days.

The party’s spokesperson, Pablo Fernández, alluded to the latest corruption scandals plaguing the government, as Koldo affair.

He proclaimed that “the PP and the PSOE are fighting over who is more corrupt” and demanded that both parties “return every last cent they stole.” He also accused them of “supporting the corrupt monarchy”.

The former Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, regretted that, while from the Council of Ministers she was working to defend social rights, “members of the PSOE, of the party of the President of Government, put their hands in the box, just like Ayuso with his family members.

But his accusations against President Pedro Sánchez went further, since he considers him co-responsible for the “racist” policy that the EU practices with emigrants.

“We see Pedro Sánchez scandalized because Meloni decided to open a detention center in Albania for people who emigrate,” he stressed, “but Spain pays Tunisia and Mauritania to let people who emigrate stranded in the desert.

President Pedro Sánchez, Montero added, “voted with the PP for Ursula von der Leyen, they voted together for this racist and miserable pact, which allows violence against people who emigrate.”

According to him, instead of “talking about mass expulsions as Sánchez did”, the humanitarian solution would be to “put blankets and food at the borders for immigrants, not because we need them to work, but because no human being is in an irregular situation.” “

Irene Montero also affirmed that the PP and the PSOE “sell the public assets of our cities” and “applaud with their ears Black Rock, who wants to keep 20% of the capital”. [la energética] Naturgy and steals from Spanish families.

The former Minister for Equality rejected the “youth rent bonus” to which the government allocates 200 million euros per year. Money which, according to him, “ends up in the pockets of rentiers”.

Montero defended Podemos’ alternative, which demands that the government implement: prohibiting vulture funds from buying housing, lowering the price of housing by law and requiring investment funds to devote at least 50% of their stock at social rent.
