Second place was taken by another McLaren driver, the Australian Oscar Piastri. The top three was completed by Max Verstappen from the Netherlands, playing for Red Bull.
The winner of the sprint race will earn eight points in the overall world championship standings. The eight best drivers overall earn points.
Currently, Verstappen leads the drivers’ standings with 368 points. Norris (323) and Ferrari team driver Charles Leclerc (296) are in the top three. In the Constructors’ Championship, “McLaren” (581) occupies first place, while “Ferrari” (546) and “Red Bull” (519) are in the top three.
