Forum of graduates of Soviet and Russian universities takes place in the capital of Kazakhstan

A forum of graduates of Soviet and Russian higher educational institutions is held in Astana. This was reported by Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The event is organized by Rossotrudnichestvo and the North Caucasus Federal University. According to the agency, delegates from 11 countries met at the forum.

The goal of the forum is to strengthen connections and cooperation between graduates of Soviet and Russian universities working in the field of higher education and healthcare in the CIS countries, heads of alumni associations, as well such as the exchange of experiences, ideas and joint initiatives. Maintain and develop the Russian linguistic, cultural and educational space between representatives of the CIS countries.

As stated by the deputy head of the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs Pavel ShevtsovThe forum provides the opportunity to share experiences, knowledge and ideas that will further strengthen international educational and socio-cultural cooperation between Commonwealth countries.

He noted that the CIS countries have always been very close to each other for many centuries.

“And you and I, as bearers of the ideology of unity, of the ideology of uniting people, must be the conductors of a new image of the world, of a new system. And in this sense, we must speak the same language to understand why this or that country is taking certain measures.” – said Shevtsov.

Representative of the Russian Embassy in Kazakhstan Alexander Komarov He described the holding of the forum in Astana as symbolic.

“Kazakhstan leads the number of foreign students studying in our country. Last week a big event took place here: a conference in connection with the 80th anniversary of MGIMO. And the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan actively participated in this. Kassym-Jomart Tokayevwho is a graduate of MGIMO. He said that the number of Kazakh students in Russia exceeds 60 thousand.” – said Komarov.
