Four ‘dangerous’ squatters evicted from Valencia home for thwarting neighbours

Last Friday, the National Police expelled a squatting house for several months in Valencia. Its four residents, men of Moroccan origin aged between 24 and 46, were identified because of their “dangerousness” and the “great social concern” they were causing among residents of the Campanar neighbourhood, according to police sources.

After verifying the illicit origin of the objects they were transporting, the agents intervened. two cell phones, sunglasses and a speaker.

The investigation is related to the intentional arson of another house in the same neighborhood on July 14, which forced several firefighters to act and for which a 30-year-old man with a criminal record was arrested fifteen days later, as the alleged perpetrator. of a crime of damage. Apparently, the arrested person was living illegally in this property and set fire abandoning it after threatening some neighbors – also squatters – to do the same to their house.

This situation prompted the intervention in another squatted house on Mosén Rausell Street, whose residents had been arrested several times for crimes against property and personsIndicators of the Police Intervention Unit (UIP) and the Operational Response Group (GOR) of Transport appeared there last Friday.

Officers located the four squatters inside, who collected their belongings and left the property “in a controlled manner and without incident.”
