Water -Bolotnaya land Four Ciénegas, Coahuila, The declared reserve of the world biosphere for UNESCO covers 84 thousand 347 hectares of unique biological wealth. It includes the presence of hereditary microorganisms called stromatolites, living fossils about three thousand 800 million years ago.
All this wealth is under threat of disappearance from the extraction of water from its sources.
More than 150 endemic species were registered in this area, that is, there is no other place in the world. Among them are more than 70 species of flora, more than 40 water invertebrates, more than 15 species of unique fish, amphibians and reptiles and more than 10 types of turtles. According to scientists to Yuna, there are 16 endangered species.
Within endemic species there are 4 types of turtles: a hinge turtle, hats, a map and a soft sink.
