France leaves its former colonies and searches for tons of gold on its borders

The term paradigm evokes, as the RAE explains, others that can be used as synonyms, such as “example”. In most cases, to explain an explanatory model of paradigm, the scientific community is used, and although this is not the case, it could well be studied by different fields of knowledge.

The French paradigm (invention of the servant) is none other than the “magic” of France being the fourth country in the world in gold reserves without owning a single gold mine. An illusion that is better explained by another statement: Mali is home to more than 850 gold mines and produces around 50 tonnes per year, and yet it does not have a single national gold reserve.

It should be noted that Mali was a French colony for many years and that large multinationals are still present in a country rich in natural resources, but with one of the lowest per capita incomes on the planet. The black legend speaks of looting by France, which already accumulates some 2,437 tons of gold, surpassed only by Italy (2,459 t), Germany (3,353 t) and the United States (8,133 t), according to the World Gold Council.

NOW, Tired of having to rely on Mali’s reserves, the French state has given the green light to investigate a “potential gold deposit”, silver and copper’ in an old mine located in the northeast of the country, around 200 km from Bordeaux.

40 km² of gold, silver, tin, copper, zinc…

The dependence of Western countries on developing countries in industrial matters, particularly in terms of natural resources, dates back to the colonial era and unfortunately still persists. Europe does not only trust Africa for its precious metals (South Africa earns over 6 billion euros a year from diamond exports) but also for basic resources: Algeria is Spain’s main gas supplier, while France and the Netherlands buy oil from Nigeria.

The domination of exploitation in African countries has been justified for years by interventionism in corrupt governments and civil wars, which do not contribute to the socio-economic progress of developing countries, but are nothing more than Western economic interests that end up deciding the geopolitical destiny of each nation.

Countries with the largest number of world gold reserves

Today, the scarcity of natural resources in countries like France or Spain could be coming to an end. In the same way that the Iberian country discovered what could be the largest gold reserve in Europe, located in the Asturian region of Tapia de Casariego, the Gauls could welcome a deposit of several tons of precious metals, such as gold, silver, bronze, tin, zinc, lead and nickel.

At least that is what the authorities of the European country, “one of the largest French gold deposits, with grades higher than the international average”, are expecting. For the moment, it is the company Aurelius Resources, a French subsidiary of the English company of the same name specializing in mining, the one responsible for carrying out the study and research work on the territory: 39 km² to be investigated between the towns of Limoges, Brive, Périgueux and Angoulême, including the communes of Chalard, Ladignac-le-Long (Haute-Vienne) and Jumilhac-le-Grand (Dordogne).

The upward trend in the price of gold (paid at 60,000 euros per kg) seems to have accelerated the search for gold by the major powers. In fact, The possible French deposit is located, in part, in the old Bourneix mine, closed in 2022 and now the epicenter of Aurelius Resources’ research. Some studies for which the company has 5 years.

France will then consider extracting the possible tens of tons of minerals hidden underground. in order to reduce its dependence on former African colonies.
