France’s Paralympic shame: anti-Azerbaijani hysteria never ends

The anti-Azerbaijani hysteria in France is endless. Emmanuel Macron’s government has once again shown that it has no values and morals left. As in the case of the Summer Olympics, the organizers of the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games showed their prejudices and moral poverty. At the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, the names of Azerbaijani athletes, not even the name of the country, were not worthy of being mentioned. The French, “harassed” by the Armenian lobby, discriminated against athletes with physical disabilities.

Historically, the Olympic Games have been seen not only as a sporting event, but also as an opportunity to improve relations between nations. The Games bring together representatives of different nations and cultures, promote the ideals of peace, friendship and solidarity and become an important platform for diplomacy and international cooperation. In addition, it promotes the ideals of peace, friendship, solidarity and the fight against all forms of discrimination. But Macron’s government has once again shown that France lacks all these characteristics or is unable to implement them.

Any form of racism, national, religious or sexual discrimination is prohibited. This should have been the goal of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. But both the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games and the disgrace at the Paralympic Games showed that the country where the event was held is far from the principles of peace, friendship, solidarity and the fight against all forms of discrimination.

The latest footage broadcast by local TV channels confirmed that the political establishment was behind the process. It should be noted that during the opening of the Summer Olympics, commentators showered Azerbaijan with gifts and dressed up the sports competition in political garb. At the same time, they made insulting accusations typical of cowards. Such an attitude is fundamentally unacceptable, especially in the context of the Paralympic Games. Here, regardless of nationality, every athlete deserves to be recognized for his tenacity and commitment to sport, and this is not only a violation of ethical standards, but also an insult. After all, it is the Paralympic Games! All its participants are real heroes with limited abilities! And what the French are doing is simply disgusting!

What was shown this time shows the lack of morals of the French political establishment and the lack of all moral values.

The question is: what is the reason for this attitude towards Azerbaijan? Hatred and malice have reached such a level that no values are even taken into account. It is clear that the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, the fight against French colonialism and an independent policy are at the forefront of this reckless and completely incomprehensible policy of Paris.

The initiator of the tension between the two countries is France. Historically, Azerbaijan has followed the line of friendship and expansion of bilateral relations with France. This country was even a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, which resolved the long-standing Karabakh conflict. However, after the Karabakh victory, official Paris unilaterally sided with Armenia, calling it “a country close to the heart of the French” and trying to present it as a suffering country.

As for President Emmanuel Macron, the French leader has shown with his latest move that he is faithful to his tradition. It is as if the president and his team were doing everything possible to ensure that the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games would go down in world history as games of misfortune. Faithful to their traditions, the French did not hesitate to add politics to the prestigious sporting event.

The authorities’ disgrace is not enough. The competitions showed that the authorities made a fiasco in organizing the games. Even if migrants and homeless people were expelled from the city, the humiliation did not end there. The athletes criticized all the organizational work, starting with the food. For example, athletes from the Great Britain delegation openly stated that they were facing food shortages in the Olympic Village. According to the French newspaper “L’Equipe”, due to the large number of athletes during breakfast, there was a limited amount of food in the restaurant. Members of the German field hockey team consider the conditions for athletes in the Olympic Village in Paris to be very undesirable. Hours before the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics, vandals attacked the high-speed rail network in France. As a result, hundreds of thousands of local residents and visitors of Paris were left in a difficult situation.

One of the curious things was that the South Korean athletes were wrongly presented as North Koreans. The South Korean Ministry of Sports filed a “serious complaint to France at the governmental level” in this regard.

One of the main problems for guests is reported to be related to transport. There were no special transfers from airports and escalators were not working at many metro stations. In Paris, which welcomed 15 million tourists during the Olympics, there was severe congestion on public transport due to a lack of drivers and delays on the metro and trains.

Even before the start of the Olympics, experts were skeptical about the readiness of the French authorities for this large-scale event. In general, Paris was not ready to host the Olympics, and the opening ceremony of the event clearly demonstrated this. France’s Olympic misfortune was manifested in all its “glory”, and even love for Armenia will not be able to save Paris from this “glory”.

Thus, the organizers of the Paralympic Games, who uttered absurd sarcasm against the interests of Azerbaijan, exceeded the standards and demonstrated that their moral and moral qualities were completely exhausted.
