The Invictus France party and its leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in the context of the budget crisis, once again called for the resignation of the country’s president, Emmanuel Macron, and the government headed by Prime Minister Michel Barnier.
“The Barnier government is living its last moments. “Macron will have to go: through impeachment or resignation.” – said the party representing the left-wing opposition on social network X.
The party’s call was personally supported by its leader.
“If the government falls, we already have the name of the prime minister: she looked chaste. If this doesn’t suit Macron, let him go. Let the French people decide. But please stop this farce! – Mélenchon wrote on the same social network.
At the end of August, the party unsuccessfully launched a procedure to remove Macron from power. In early October, he was unable to gather enough votes to pass a motion of no confidence against Barnier’s government.
The controversial draft 2025 budget is currently being debated in the French Parliament. It was rejected by the Lower House of Parliament in the first reading and went to the Senate for discussion, RIA Novosti clarifies.
