A new list of thunderstorms for the period 2025-2026. In the North Atlantic, Met Office, Met Eriann’s and the Dutch National Weather Service of KNMI have just been published.
This year consists completely of the proposals presented by the public, taking into account about 50,000 names. Amy, Bram and Chandra will be the first three thunderstorms that will be called the team this season.
The full list of names is complemented by Daiv, Eddie, Fionulla, Gerard, Hannah, Isla, Jeannaya, Casia, Lilith, Marty, Nico, Oscars, Patrick, Ruby, Stevy, Tadhga, Violet and Vubobo.
Why do we give names storms?

How are the names of storms selected?
Thunderstorms of the North Atlantic are called alphabetically in order, not missing the letters Q, U, X, Y and Z.

How many names will be used at present?
The thunderstorm is named after the weather forecast group, if it is believed that it can cause “moderate” or “high” influences in the United Kingdom, Ireland or the Netherlands.
