Bárbara Rey: But let’s see, if you’ve always behaved very well with him… Is there anything he’s not happy with you for?

Juan Carlos I: I don’t know. I don’t know.

Bárbara Rey: But, dissatisfied with you in particular, or with you and the queen? Or is he only after you?

Juan Carlos I: No… He says I managed to convince the Queen to be against him.

Bárbara Rey: But didn’t you tell me that sometimes you even felt that you had seen her, as if you had a certain confidence in her?

Juan Carlos I: Yes, yes. But after he left, he said I made her turn on him.

Bárbara Rey: But is the queen against him?

Juan Carlos I: No, no… not at all!

Bárbara Rey: So these are lies that he tells because he wants to tell them, but people don’t know that and a person who has been so close to you…

Juan Carlos I: Yes, but he invents things with journalists about private life, economic life, this life… Wow, the things he says! (…) There are meetings where they criticize me and talk about me… and about my life and things… and so… They invent and so and, then, he is present and, instead of cutting off, he says : “Well, if I said: ‘If I said… But, of course, since I cannot speak because of my loyalty, because of my years in the House…’

Bárbara Rey: So it warms up… it adds fuel to the fire…

Juan Carlos I: It’s worse than if I said it.
