Where does the hegemonic masculinity that permeates our society come from and how has it evolved since Antiquity? Who were the first sexists in history? What historical examples do we have of masculinities confronting the norm? How has the notion of masculinity evolved over the centuries?

Comes back Fucking Mikel to tell us how “History repeats itself” and how we have continued to stumble over the same stones throughout the history of Humanity. For the theme of this show we descend into hell, since it is at the base and foundations of our culture: masculinity.

Gladiators and gym brother, In this program, we focus on the aspects of masculinity that we see from ancient times to today and how they have changed to ultimately justify the same thing: male supremacy, or at least for some, power dynamics and inequalities. A historical journey in which we also talk about these other masculinities that were constructed and the way in which they confronted the hegemonic.

A path that we also trace with Darina Martykanovadoctor in history and professor at the UAM and coordinator with Marie Walin of the book “Being a man: masculinities in 19th century Spain”, and with Alfredo Ramosdoctor in political science, researcher at the Institute of Policies and Public Goods of the CSIC and author of the book “Perforar las masculinidades” (Bellaterra).
