Julien Muñozformer mayor of Marbella, died this Tuesday at the age of 76. His life was surrounded by very media-friendly moments, notably his relationship with Isabelle Pantoja the greatest of all. Their six years of love were broadcast from beginning to end and marked the end of Muñoz’s marriage to Mayte Zaldívar.
For years, both were protagonists of the pilgrimage of Rocío, where Muñoz and Pantoja were seen full of love and joy, with kisses, hugs and bravo for the fashionable couple in 2003. However, it was not all love, blaming their bad manners with the press.
The former mayor was still married to Mayte Zaldivar in what was a kind of love triangle that made the covers of the tabloids. That’s when the problems with the justice system and with each other began. Muñoz went to prison in 2006, ten years later he got the third degree for his illness and was sent back to prison.
In 2021, he was released on parole. His health condition worsened as he was reunited with his family, his daughters and Mayte Zaldivar, with whom he remarried this spring and it accompanied her until her last days.
