Since its first session, the Amman International Film Festival has penetrated young Arab cinematic talents. He devoted his programming to the first films in the march of his manufacturers and a year after year he turned to the Youth Forum, which unites directors, producers and young actors from all over the Arab world.
The actions of “Amman Films” are carried out in parallel with the festival, and its beating the heart and its professional and industrial hand are formed. This varies between specialized seminars and discussion sessions, while their pillars are a marketing platform, with the help of which the director offers their projects to get the necessary support to complete the work on them, knowing that some of them are at the development stage, that is, writing, while the other section was completed or reached their final stages.
Among the halls that unite the people of cinema, beginners and veterans, it is clear how much the end of the film is a difficult work that can take 7 years or more. Labor can be emphasized by periods of disappointment, but often ends with the light of the film. Thus, this was, in the case of the Egyptian film “Search for the release of Mr. Rambo” by the Egyptian director Haled Mansur, who won the support of the festival last year to return to him this year as a competitor for one of his prizes.
Bassam AL -ASAAD, director of AMMan Film Manufacturers, reports that the choice of 18 of 170 projects presented on the marketing and support of the film was a difficult task. In an interview with Al -Sharq Al -Awsat, he says that the selected projects have authentic and distinctive content, and they are also based on modern methods, as if young directors invented a new identity and a cinema resembling them. As for the stories that they tell, in documents and fictional films, they combine hope and pain in the reflection of the Arab reality.
The filmmakers participating in the “Days of Amman” are gathering here. Their journey begins with intensive sessions through which they learn to advance, review and discuss their projects with the committee, manufacturers and suppliers. They also participate in seminars that are concentrated this year on such topics as artificial intelligence in the film industry, the use of animation in documents, actors management and security procedures during filming in the areas of the conflict.
In this context, AL -ASAAD refers to “ensuring mutual relations between us and the creators of Arabic films, because they are the basis for the festival.” This exchange applies to festival partners who support him in support of the victorious films through materials and an awards of enthusiastic ones.
6 days of exchange of experience and demonstration and trading projects, ending with 18 awards for 13 projects. It is clear that the decision was difficult, since the jury agreed that “there were a lot of strong projects, and cinematic capabilities are huge, which made us make difficult decisions.”
At the awarding ceremony for directors, the director of the International Film Festival in Amman, Nada Domany, indicated that “prizes provide basic internal support, which helps stories, unlike authentic social sounds, because it is necessary that Arabic filmmakers are rooted in their region to reach the world later.”
From Jordan to Morocco passing through Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Palestine, the prizes were distributed by films at two stages of development and post -product.
Among the victorious projects, the feature film “Zeer Tyr in the very” Egyptian director Amal Ramses, who received a cash prize in the amount of $ 10,000. Ramses told Al -Shark al -Ausat about her joy in victory, “especially as her first feature film after setting documentaries.
Ramses says that the film is still at the development stage, and tells the story of three friends from the popular area in Cairo, who decide to leave the bathroom, despite the male problems they face. After reaching the achievement, each of them goes to its own flight, which leads us to different experience and stories. Ramses adds that he advanced his project at the amman festival, “because he is one of the most important in the Arab world and opens the doors to several markets.”
Among the victorious projects in the category of post -product, the documentary film “Asphalt” of the Jordanian director Hamza Hamida. The project won two prizes in the amount of $ 14,000. The film falls in the alleys of the Al -Bakaa camp, north of Amman, where he tells the story of Palestinian youth, who wants to marry his girlfriend, but he is faced with obstacles, on the front edge of the death of relatives in Gaza, the closer the date of the wedding. The documentary tells about the story with sarcastic realism, using the Osli Varda, which helps its owner in his path to achieve his dreams.
As for Lebanon, she went to the director of Noel Keservani with her first feature film “Spring Al -omar”. It is true that she failed to get support, but she received a lot of experience thanks to participation in the festival, in accordance with what Al -Shark Al -Avat said.
“The heroine of the twentieth film is faced with the boredom of her living conditions and work, while the series of shooting a series in a place adjacent to the store where it works changes her life,” so the Keservani summarizes the plot. The amman’s festival is his first station in a high film, because acting in the film before anything is a work that is tired of a director who is very happy.
