National Police officers arrested a man in Altea (Alicante) fugitive 70-year-old man sentenced to prison in Netherlands for chief of a criminal trafficking organization drugsillegal possession of arm of fire and bleach money.
On him weighed a European order detention for extradition (OEDE) issued by the Dutch authorities for crimes committed between 2004 and 2010, and the police of several countries cooperated in his capture, as reported by the Alicante headquarters in a press release.
It was suspected that the fugitive could have chosen the province of Alicante to hide from the justice system of his country. It was for this reason that investigators opened investigations and quickly located him in Altea and after carrying out a police operation, he was arrested.
The fugitive had fled Dutch justice after being sentenced to two years in prison for crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, illicit trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances and money laundering.
The detainee, who committed the acts between 2004 and 2010, was the chief of a criminal organization of the Netherlands, dedicated to the supply, sale and transport of narcotic substances as well as the laundering of money obtained through criminal activities.
Thanks to the exchange of information and the effectiveness of coordination between the police authorities of other countries and the National Police, the arrest of this person was possible.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Central Investigating Court of National courtthe body responsible for carrying out the procedures with a view to his subsequent extradition.
