US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump suggests that the Gaza Strip can be transformed into the best vacation destination in the world.
This is what the former president said in an interview with Politico.
Trump clarified that the Gaza Strip could become more attractive than Monaco if it is restored after destruction. He noted that the territory has an excellent location in the Middle East and high quality water.
The politician also mentioned that he has experience visiting this region, although he did not specify the details. According to The New York Times, there is no confirmation of his visit to the Gaza Strip, either as president or as a businessman. However, one of his campaign staffers suggested he could be referring to his trip to Israel in 2017.
Trump’s words echoed those of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, who argued that real estate along the Gaza Strip could have significant value. The World Bank estimates that rebuilding Gaza after the attacks will require $18.5 billion.
