George Baldock, Panathinaikos footballer and former Sheffield player, found dead in his home swimming pool

The English footballer George Baldockof the Panathinaikos Greek, was found dead this Wednesday at his home in Athensaccording to Greek radio SKAI. The lifeless body of the 31-year-old defender was found in the swimming pool of his home, located in the Glifada district of the Greek capital, according to the same source.

As of now, the cause of his death is unknown and as of now there is no official statement from his family. Born in Buckingham, EnglandBaldock was international with the national team Greecesince one of his grandparents was Greek, he therefore had the right to wear the shirt of that country.

He began his career in the lower categories of Milton Keyne Donations and he was a footballer Sheffield United English from 2017 until last May when he was signed by Panathinaikos. This season, he suffered an injury in mid-August and played a total of 214 minutes in four games.

Their last official match took place on October 6 at home against Olympiacoswhere he played almost the entire match which his team equalized. A statement from the Greek Super League was announced after learning of the player’s death. “The entire Super League football family expresses its deep sadness at the untimely loss of Panathinaikos and our national team footballer George Baldock and extends its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”
