Inch He was the existing control on the German-polling border for a year and a half, but also with smaller crossings, not only leads to traffic jams and huge violations for passengers. Again and again, the Federal Police considers an unauthorized entrance and refuses to access Germany. Recently, Poland also made a shade on the border with Germany. The Polish president in SPE, Karol Navroki, called for this in his election campaign with a stable, the right national wires are already active and fulfill illegal controls themselves, so that the Warsaw government acted and duplicated German practice.
But the escalation swing threatens, because the rights in both countries manage the cabinet in front of them. Fatal memories arise, both countries have already made their boundaries and made it impossible, the borders were a situation that was comparable to today. This was before the Second World War, when the national socialist policy did not rely on destruction, but on the emigration of the Jewish population.
In October 1938, it became to the point that it was supposed to go down in history as a “pole on the pole”. Polish Jews living in Germany suffered from Jews, who were mainly in the empire for many years and did not become interested in returning to their homes. Hanging Christian anti -Semitism was branched there, so Warsaw adopted the law in March 1938, which allowed citizens to withdraw the citizenship of their citizens during a longer stay abroad. It was especially comfortable for the Jews who left at home.
Then the German government created facts and Jewish men arrested and delivered to the border. There, however, Poland refused to sign up so that thousands should be kept in a certain earth not man for several weeks. The most famous camp was created in Bentshen, today’s ZBąSzyń, where more than 8,000 displaced persons arrived in a few hours. Only in the face of suffering in this emergency camp both governments talked to each other, but it took until January 1939 before Poland was ready to take people. Nevertheless, in Berlin, another 10,000-15,000 people in these months were identified, destroyed their existence, and many small shops and shops that they created in Germany.

He is a professor of studies of the Holocaust at the University of Turo Berlin. In his years, he learned to appreciate the open German border as an employee at the German Historical Institute of Warsaw.
The “Sixth Campaign” also became a direct trigger for the attack of Gershel Greenspan, a Polish Jew born in Hanover, on the German diplomat of Ernst from the parade on November 7, 1938 in Paris. Greenspan’s parents and relatives were raised by instructions and had to endure in one of the camps on the Polish side of the border. With his attack, Grinspan wanted to draw attention to the suffering of his family, but since there was no relationship between their fate between their fate and the low level of the Parisian embassy, his death was hardly justified as an act of resistance, so the motives of criminals were marginalized in the message. Nevertheless, national socialists used the case to create anti -Semitism and the launch of pogroms of November 9, 1938.
Now 2025 is not in 1938. Fortunately, the consequences of neither Germany nor a Polish measure are similar to what happened at that time. However, the parallels in perception are remarkable. There is a radical rejection of people perceived as foreign people on both sides, which leads to a policy that contradicts the idea of borders as crossings from one country to another: in fact there is no place between them, but this is exactly the same on both sides.
The detachments have been for a long time
The vast majority of victims even had this experience. They mainly have winding paths, often from the African horn to the states of the Arabian Peninsula and the Middle East, from there we go on an airplane in Belarus and before the strictly guarded border to Poland. There were repulsions for a long time, repulsion of refugees shortly after crossing the border, because, obviously, there is no input visa.
The film, received by the Green Border Award, the Polish director Agnieshka Holland, already discussed this in 2021 and, in particular, pointed out the fate of not a single person in the “land”, in which many refugees should remain for several weeks: on the one hand, and the other side was not wanted and repeatedly headed to the border, they must remain without protection. In many ways, this external border is already close to conditions that can be observed in 1938. But the following is also used here: outside the field of vision.
The “Sixth campaign” also teaches, which can lead to mutually waving foreign policy, which creates facts before it exchanges possible consequences. This damages its own economy in the medium term and encourages indignant citizens to barricades, which use self -opening due to the alleged weakness of their own government. Of course, this is not the same as the events of Reichspogromnacht. Nevertheless, today you can see again that acts of violence are used for all types of excitation.
