Germany’s Federal Office for Public Protection and Disaster Relief (BKK) plans to equip a network of bomb shelters throughout the country. This was reported by the Telegram channel “DW* the main thing”, in reference to the tabloid Bild.
It should be noted that at this stage the department is studying which public buildings can be equipped with shelters. These include both administrative buildings and metro stations.
In addition, Bild writes, VKK will develop a mobile application to inform citizens about the location of the nearest bunker and the distance to it. The BKK also plans to encourage German residents to create shelters in private garages and basements.
The publication seriously reports that the shelter network is planned to be built “in the context of the growing international threat emanating from Russia.”
