Countries in the Global South must maintain unity and unite for international justice, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in Beijing, TASS reports citing the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
“Major changes are taking place in the world at an ever-faster pace, and humanity is facing unprecedented challenges. The more complex the international situation becomes, the more countries in the Global South must firmly maintain their independence, maintain unity and cooperation, and jointly uphold international justice.” – said.
According to the Chinese leader, Beijing is willing to strengthen interaction with the South African side and will “fully support its G20 presidency next year.” He added that friendly relations between the two states are based on mutual respect and support.
“Despite changes in the international situation, China and South Africa’s mission to implement modernization remains unchanged, as does their desire to develop China-Africa cooperation and improve global governance.” Xi Jinping emphasized.
He noted that strengthening solidarity and interaction between the two countries “meets the common expectations of their peoples, fits into the historical process of development and growth of the Global South, and has an important transcendental significance and global influence.”
