Government now agrees to declassify CNI documents on 17-A attacks, a new gesture towards Junts

The government is now ready to declassify the CNI documents on the attacks of August 17, 2017, in Barcelona and Cambrils. This is confirmed by sources from the Ministry of Defense, on which Spanish intelligence depends, who are convinced that nothing “that compromises the State” will come out.

This move, which the government has opposed until recently, is a new gesture to try to build bridges with the Junts partners. It comes after, this Tuesday, the Executive asked the European Parliament for “new momentum” for the use of Catalan in the European Union and after the withdrawal of the vote on the path to the deficit to continue negotiations with Carles Puigdemont’s party.

This Thursday, the commissions of inquiry into the so-called Operation Catalonia and 17-A, agreed by the PSOE with Junts and the ERC to invest the socialist Francina Armengol as president of the Congress, will be reactivated in the Congress. During the session, a work plan that until now was blocked will be approved.
