Madrid’s institutions and citizens are working hard to help those affected by the Valencia disaster. Regional and municipal governments organized caravans with professionals, technical means and essential products for the affected population, and warehouses were set up to concentrate donations. Concretely, the regional executive is deploying a global aid system for the Valencia disaster. The work focuses on working together to locate possible victims, moving loads to access affected areas, with forensic scientists and psychologists supporting the teams.

In total, 17 vehicles, including tow trucks, and 69 people left yesterday Saturday, in collaboration with various town halls in the region, to support the evacuation of vehicles. These heavy machinery include cranes, sweepers and excavators from road maintenance centers in the Community of Madrid. And two heavy units and forestry pumps intended to reinforce the firefighters are being prepared to evacuate the water.

For its part, the Canal de Isabel II is also ready to repair infrastructure and send tankers. On the ground are 46 Ericam rescuers, with drones and rescue and search dogs; five forensic experts from the Institute of Secular Medicine, seven psychologists from the Assistance Offices for Victims of Crime of the Community of Madrid and a helicopter from the Special Group for Rescue at Heights (GERA).

The Government of the Community of Madrid has mobilized 20 additional forensic doctors to reinforce and cover rotations; two heavy units and forest pumps to reinforce the firefighters for water evacuation, and prepare the sending of heavier machines, intended for the mobilization of vehicles and the clearing of roads and access points.

In the Community of Madrid, they have prepared a social emergency team to respond to the needs of the Valencians of Madrid, with 50 buses to carry out the necessary transfers of citizens. Madrid City Hall, for its part, opened 22 spaces on Friday to collect aid for Valencia, and extended them yesterday to municipal police stations, taking into account the massive arrival of Madrid residents with essential products. In the first few hours alone, hundreds of tons of materials were collected.

The delegate reported that, in the coming hours, 70 workers from the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) will also leave with 12 cranes which “will collaborate with the services of the area to remove the vehicles and trucks that are still on the roads” . , in garages and streets in the municipalities of Valence.

And the help received is much more important: a group of firefighters and the municipal group of Civil Protection volunteers from Fuenlabrada went to Paiporta this Saturday morning. The Government Delegation has a main open warehouse in which the aid that the different town halls in the region move is accumulated, in collaboration with the Federation of Municipalities of Madrid.
