The company’s decision comes after the Lucena City Council rejected, three months ago, the possibility of undertaking the purchase of these former municipal landvalued at an amount close to 1.5 million eurosalready having a large lot of municipal residential land for VPO in “El Zarpazo”.

The initiative was born last February, after having taken note of the opinion of the Advisory Board from Andalusia, which forced the city council to back down in its intention to revise ex officio a resolution issued in 2009, which definitively approved the detailed study. The measure aimed to cancel this decision, which set the construction of 171 officially protected housing units (VPO) on these lands and to respond to the property’s request to build 70 percent of free rental housing and only 30 percent of protected housing.
