The Provincial Council of Valladolid approved on Friday the corporation’s budgets for the 2025 financial year, after the ordinary plenary session held at the Pimentel Palace, accounts that increase by 12.1 percent, in double digits, and which represent a record figure of 175.4 million euros, 19 million more.
The project received the green light thanks to the vote in favor of the 14 PP deputies, the abstention of the only representative of the TLPwhich thus compensated for the approval of one of its amendments, and the vote against by the 10 from the PSOE and the two from Vox.
The main difference, exposed during the debate, lies in the origin of the income which led to an increase in the accounts, and in the fact that the provincial groups of The PSOE and Take the Word blamed the increase in funds provided by the central government, which represents three euros out of four of the total, to which the vice-president of the institution, Víctor Alonso, responded that “the money does not belong to the State, it belongs to the Spaniards, who pay it to through taxes and who are taking it away from the poorest,” according to Ical.
The government team, chaired by Conrado Íscar, accepted only one amendment, presented by the Take the Word group, implement a grant to municipalities to improve rural schools. In fact, the PP rejected 43 of the 44 amendments presented, namely 14 from the TLP, 17 from Vox and 12 from the PSOE, in all cases, Alonso justified, as being “repetitive” and “already included in the budgets”. .
