Gregory Sanz, known as Goyo and “one of the historical spokespersons” of the Citizen Platform of Soria ¡Ya!He died this Friday evening at the age of 88.as reported this Saturday by the political group.
Through a press release collected by Europa Press, Soria ¡Ya! expressed their regrets for the death of their honorary president, of whom they emphasized that, despite his “delicate” state of health, he did not stop being attentive and aware of the activity of Soria ¡Ya! was one of his passions.
In this sense, they recognized and thanked his “enormous work” on the Platform for 23 years, where became “the soul of Soria ¡Ya!”. The group also sent a “big hug” to Goyo’s wife, daughters and granddaughter.
“It’s a sad day for Soria now! and for the province. He leaves us a good man, of his word, a fighter, attached to his land, his principles and his values. Leaves us a key figure of the Platform, responsible, with the equally historic Gregorio Alonso, the other Goyo, for giving new impetus to a citizens’ movement which was languishing”, affirms the platform in this press release.
Soria now! highlighted the role of Goyo Sanz as a “reference” and as a voice that everyone listened to “with attention, admiration and respect” for having been the driving force behind many of his actions. “He was and is an example to follow, an icon of non-conformism. Every day, he transmitted to us his energy, his enthusiasm and his desire to move forward. His spirit and strength are those of a young man in his twenties. He didn’t know how to give up. He didn’t want to give up. I wish there was a Goyo in every corner of Soria”, concludes the platform in this farewell declaration, reports Ep.
