THE emergency works ordered by the Provincial Delegation of Guadalajara to rebuild the roads affected by the DANA on October 29, they now allow the movement of vehicles, in some cases with restrictions, on three of the four provincial roads this had to be cut at first.
Provincial roads that suffered serious damage to its roads and structures was GU-147 (Bustares), GU-211 (Valverde de los Arroyos), the GU-418 (La Yunta) and the GU-958 (Corduente-Ventosa-Torete), as reported by the Guadalajara Provincial Council in a press release.
The urgent repair of these four roads in the provincial network will require an investment of 838,171 euros from the Provincial Council. Among them, only the affected section of The GU-418 – the bridge over the Rambla del Campillo, which practically reaches the entrance to La Yunta – is currently closed..
The president of the Provincial Delegation, José Luis Vega, visited the emergency works underway to restore normality on the said bridge, which was concreted last Wednesday and which should be able to be inaugurated in the coming days. In the meantime, alternative access points to the city continue to be established, through which vehicles, with the exception of heavy goods vehicles, can circulate.
On the other road of the provincial network located at the region of Molina de Aragón, the GU-958, which suffered damage between kilometer points 11 and 20 with falling materials, flooding of ditches and deterioration of the coating, the cleaning of the landslides has already been carried out and it has been opened to traffic. The next phase of work to be carried out will concern the cleaning of the ditches.
Regarding the affected roads in the Sierra Norte region, work also began this week on the GU-147, where snow removal is underway to fill the slopes and sections where the road has been damaged and is open to traffic with signalized flashing lights. and led by the staff carrying out the reconstruction.
The GU-211 highway is also open to single-lane traffic.
