Guard an appraisal of Dedi Mulyadi policy delete vehicle tax arrears

West Java – President of Garda Satu Abdul Rohim appreciated and supported the innovative policy of the West Java (Java West) Governor Dedi Multyadi, to eliminate the tax arrears on vehicles under certain conditions. Politics is considered to have the potential to increase the original regional income (PAD), not only to ease the burden on the community.

“I greatly appreciate Kang Dedi Mulydi’s intelligent steps, which offers the public to extend their annual vehicle tax, without having to pay previous tax arrears,” said Abdul Rohim, who is familiar Cak Rohim in his Jakarta statement (3/4/2025).

Cak Rohim explained, the policy, which applies between March 20 and June 6, 2025, gives a fresh air breath for West Java vehicle owners. These can extend the validity period of the vehicle tax, paying only the tax for the current year.

“This is a form of forgiveness and mentor from the Western Java Provincial Government for motor vehicles taxation. However, we resort to the fact that, after the Idulfitri holiday, the community immediately expanded the tax,” he said.

He considered this policy as an effective educational step to increase the awareness of people in Western Java in the payment of vehicle tax. By providing comfort when the community can encounter difficulties, the government is present and indirectly encourages the taxpayers.

“This policy not only facilitates the burden on the community, but also has the potential to increase the regional income in the fiscal sector of vehicles. The community will feel appreciated and supported by the Government. I hope that similar policies can be considered and implemented by other provinces from all Indonesia,” he added.

Previously, before the Idulfitri 1446 H holiday, the governor Dedi Multyadi through different platforms, including his personal account Tiktok, Tuesday (18/03/2025), apologized for the potential lack of services from the Western Java Government. He also announced the policy of eliminating vehicle tax arrears from 2024 and in previous years.

“We apologize if the provincial government of western Java has not offered the best service. We also forgive the mistakes of residents who are still late in the vehicle tax,” said Dedi Multyadi.

However, he also offered a confirmation that this policy has been given in the hope that people who have financial capacity continue to fulfill the obligation to pay taxes in the future. He gave a deadline between April 11, 2025 – June 6, 2025 for the owners of vehicles to expand taxes with new tax rates in 2025, without having to pay arrears before.

“The increase in vehicle tax for 2024 and previously should not be paid, we forgive and abolished. But after Lebaran, please expand the vehicle tax,” he said.

He also mentioned in a tone relaxed by consequences for those who did not extend the tax according to the specified time limit. Dedi hopes this policy can help people in West Java meet and celebrate Holiday Idulfitri.
