Guarinos proposes more industrial land, VPO housing and better mobility for Guadalajara

“Guadalajara is today a better city, which has left aside the neglect and abandonment of public serviceswhere many things have been done, although there are many more to do and where we demonstrate through actions that things can be done better and meet the needs of the people of Guadalajara, listening with humility and closeness and with more enthusiasm every day.”

It is with this premise that the mayor of Guadalajara, Ana Guarinos, began her speech during the State of the City debate this Friday.in which he assured that he had already fulfilled or almost 80% of his commitments, in an intervention in which among his proposals they put forward that of continuing to promote sheltered housing and protecting the right to private property, minimizing the effects of the low emissions zone and create industrial and residential land.

A debate in which the councilor stressed that, despite the attempts to generate “crisis and instability” by certain political forces, Guadalajara “is doing better” and manages to emerge from “the paralysis and abandonment” in the management of his predecessor . and “we demonstrate through actions that things can be done better.”

The advisor boasted about her government team and reviewed some of the executed projects or executive orders and made some announcements, although much of her proposals were already known. And it was during her second presentation that she was particularly harsh with her opponents, once they had already spoken, and vindictive with the rest of the administrations.

A debate not without controversy, in which we could once again observe in their interventions the lack of harmony between the mayor and the former mayor and PSOE councilor, Alberto Rojoin which Guarinos defended the practice of a “policy of respect, proximity, active listening, work and passion Guadalajara” and also apologized “from the bottom of his heart” for the errors made or those that could be committed in the future. .

According to Guarinos, it has been “not easy” for 16 months, with “many obstacles and without any collaboration” on the part of the opposition political groups, which, according to him, have not even known how to be constructive, nor the to leave. a “small margin of trust or courtesy”. “They prejudged and judged this government team in advance,” he stressed.

The mayor acknowledged there was a lot of work to do, but she defended her government’s commitment to the city. “Nothing and no one will separate us from this exciting challenge and path,” he added.

Other proposals

Among his proposals, he also recalled the project to renovate the square of the Santuario de la Virgen de la Antigua and the arteries from the roundabout of victims of terrorism-Paseo de las Cruces and La Carrera to the Plaza de Bejanque and the project to renovate the main entrance to the city, Avenue de l’Armée, up to the Palace of the Infantado, as well as the creation of five new bus lines, one for the historic center and another to meet to the requirements of the Balcony.

THE second phase of the City of Villaflores and they will create a leisure park in Aguas Vivas and they will plan the renovation of the Cotilla Palace for the city museum and will begin the development of the Manantiales footbridge project and will respond to the need for industrial and residential land and will continue to energize the food market and the city center, in addition to increasing aid for the rehabilitation of the center and a naturalization project.

He hopes that the path of Castillejos can begin to become a reality, which, as he clarified, depends on the Council of Communities; He also mentioned the start of work on the Iriepal wastewater treatment plant, criticizing his predecessor for having limited his entire mandate to “announcements”.

In addition, they will undertake the second phase of the sports facilities plan and continue the rehabilitation of the city’s historical heritage. He also carried out a detailed analysis of some of the projects carried out or in progress during this period, also highlighting “the largest investment in history” in social centers, in addition to the development, now urgently, of the tower of the town hall and the repair of leaks in the plenary hall, the debate therefore took place in the Center of Los Valles and the first phase of the works of Villaflores is completed.

The area of Culture and the fact that Fescigu or the Slow Film Festival left Guadalajara or that Titiriguada was not presented this year also played a particular role. “We said we would end ideological interference in culture and we have done it: fewer makeshift subsidies and more competitive competition,” he noted.

The mayor asked opposition groups for explanations as to why they are so keen to favor certain events over others. “Privileges and beach bars for no one, let that be clear,” he insisted.

Guarinos also referred to the recovery of traditional Christmas and indicated that they already have authorization to carry out the cleaning of the Henares River, also arguing that they will continue to energize the food market and the historic center, they will respond to the problems of Valdenoches with the television antenna and will begin work on the Iriepal wastewater treatment plant, in addition to undertaking hydraulic works in Jaraba and Buenafuente streets and increasing aid for the rehabilitation of the city.

An exhibition in which the mayor also spoke of the “obsession” that Alberto Rojo has for her, reminding him with a bullfighting comparison that the residents of Guadalajara “sent him to the corrals” during the last elections and calling him a “proud and a liar.” .

Regarding the Cinema City, he stressed once again that he has not seen any defense of the Fort or the city by any of the opposition political groups, insisting that the Fort is being to sink, and he also took advantage of the opportunity to prove the Centrale right. administration as well as support for Cercanías and regional bus station works, among others.

City “in a vegetative state”

A debate in which the PSOE did not speak in this matter, its spokesperson, Lucía de Luz, but rather the former mayor and councilor Alberto Rojo, for whom the city today, after 16 months of government , is “in a vegetative state, coma”. , we hope reversible.

According to Rojo, Guarinos limited himself during these 16 months to taking photos of the works carried out by the previous government, reproaching the mayor for spending more time insulting him than implementing projects and regretting the ” scourge” inflicted on culture with decisions like Titiriguada, Fescigu or the Cité du Cinéma, “a decision that we will always regret”, he declared.

For Rojo, it is obvious that there is a government that is “sectarian, lacking transparency and a zero-business policy”, describing the mayor’s speech as “poor” and presenting the decalogue with the ten proposals that he has already made known to the public a few days ago. . media, referring to various areas which also include housing, economy and culture. “There is too much bigotry and a lack of dialogue,” Rojo said.

For her part, d’Aike, her spokesperson and sole advisor, Susana Martínez, believes that despite the “self-glorification and complacency” of this government, in her opinion the city “is fundamentally as always, it is a still photo,” accusing Guarinos and his advisers of being dazzled by their own spotlight.

According to Martínez, there is nothing new except “few projects and vision for the city”, with specific references to the felling of trees, to the situation in which the food market continues and the paralysis of the tourism sector, in particular complaining to Vox advisors about how little they were heard.

A debate in which there was also a memory for Teresa Butrón, pioneer of women’s associations, as well as for the two former presidents of the Provincial Council, Francisco Tomey and Emilio Clemente, all of whom died recently.
