Gunay Novruzzade, a secondary school teacher in Toganali village in Goygol region, has travelled 64 kilometres every day to teach his students for seven years.
The young teacher said that the distance of the road does not prevent his love for his profession:
“Sometimes there are difficulties during the winter, but the distance of the road is not an obstacle to my love for my profession. Moreover, the fact that the students happily wait for me every day in front of the school is one of the main reasons for going there. From the moment I see the joy on the faces and in the eyes of the students, both my tiredness and my stress completely decrease.
Gunay Novruzzade said he worked at that school together with his wife:
“Teaching has united our destinies. There we continue our activity as spouses and colleagues.”
He also appealed to teachers who do not want to work in schools in remote villages:
“Currently, the number of teachers who choose schools in remote villages is small. I would like to tell those teachers that the remote location of the school should not be an obstacle to their teaching activity. If you love your profession, believe that you will be able to overcome it.”
