“We see the potential for cooperation between Türkiye and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in three areas.”
Oku.Az Haber Global reports that this was stated by Janpin Tia, chief economist of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), in an interview during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). ) held in Baku.
“The first area is to work closely with the government. For example, developing renewable energy, climate change-related reforms and then providing funding to the government to implement them,” Tia said.
He noted that the second area is to work closely with financial institutions.
“Türkiye has a versatile financial sector. This allows the AIIB to reach many clients that it could not reach before,” the economist emphasized.
Tia said the third area of cooperation with Türkiye is the engineering, supply and construction sectors.
“Turkish companies have projects not only in Turkey, but also in Central Asia and many regions. Prioritizing sustainability in the implementation of these projects will make a positive contribution to the region and to climate change. I see many opportunities for cooperation close between the IDB and Türkiye,” he concluded.
