The high-level participation and interest in the COP29 event in Baku is striking.
Oku.Az informs that these ideas are included in the next report prepared by the Turkish television channel “Haber Global” about the event of global importance in our capital.
“The summit is also called “financial COP” because the main topic of the conference is how to provide the necessary financing to combat climate change, especially for vulnerable countries. According to experts, developing countries need an average of 1 trillion dollars in resources each year – said in the report.
It is noted that there is great interest in the COP29 United Nations Conference to be held in Baku.
“The event is followed by three thousand journalists from different countries. The event, attended by 72 thousand people from 169 countries, was held in the Baku Olympic Stadium and in the temporary areas created around it. In the halls from the entrance to the meeting room Objects related to the history of the country that are in the inventory of the Azerbaijan History Museum are on display.
Especially the pavilions where countries’ solutions in the fight against climate change are explained are full of visitors. Climate activists draw attention to the problems by displaying banners.
According to experts, developing countries other than China need at least $1 trillion a year to transition to green energy and protect against extreme weather. At the COP Summit in Copenhagen 15 years ago, it was agreed that rich countries would pay $100 billion annually in climate finance starting in 2020. Developing countries say this obligation has largely gone unfulfilled,” Haber Global reports.
