“Halal” certificates are presented in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND), under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, has obtained the right to present the “Halal” certificate that meets the international accreditation requirements.

According to the information, the institute’s certification body was accredited by the Turkish Halal Accreditation Authority (HAK).

The main objective of issuing the “Halal” certificate is to create conditions for the application and use of relevant standards in manufactured products, services and management systems, to meet consumer demands and expectations for halal products and build trust in those products. , as well as to stimulate the circulation of halal products.

Starting in 2022, Azerbaijan will be a member of the Standardization and Metrology Organization of Islamic Countries (SMIIC). AZSTAND is represented in 17 technical standardization committees of SMIIC, has adopted 6 new state standards based on SMIIC standards related to halal products and services, 23 employees of the institution are SMIIC, the Halal Accreditation Body (HAK), the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) and Participated in trainings organized by other accredited institutions and obtained internationally recognized chief auditor certificates for halal certification and international standard ISO 22000:2018 “Food Safety Management System”.
