Hamas at a crossroads after the elimination of Sinwar – media

After the liquidation of Sinwar, the Hamas leadership began active consultations on the organization’s next steps. Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reports that internal discussions concern possible changes in the leadership of the terrorist organization.

Sinwar, who played a key role in the radicalization of Hamas, took control of decision-making, removing and promoting leaders at his discretion. One source noted that Sinwar has become a kind of “global leader,” significantly increasing the rigidity of the organization’s policies.

Many Hamas leaders outside the Gaza Strip endorsed Sinwar as leader after the death of Ismail Haniyeh. They are currently discussing a future strategy and another source said the movement could reconsider its policies in light of these developments. Possible scenarios include moving the control center abroad, as well as concessions that were impossible under Sinvar.

Despite the hard blow, analysts believe that Hamas will not disappear. Although Sinvar’s elimination will weaken the group, it will retain its influence. Experts emphasize that unlike Hezbollah, which can receive help from Iran, Hamas is in a more isolated situation and faces limited support options.

Previously, Cursor reported how Sinvar was removed.

It all started on Wednesday morning, October 16, when an IDF soldier noticed a suspicious man.
