The leadership of the Palestinian movement Hamas is considering the possibility of appointing Khalil al-Hayan as the new head of the organization’s Political Bureau.

It is noted that after the assassination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, the movement is led collectively. At the same time, the newspaper’s interlocutors confirmed that if the conditions for the election of the movement’s leader are created, Al-Haya will become the new head of the Hamas Political Bureau. The election of a new Hamas leader could occur at any time, but his identity will not be officially announced.

According to Asharq Al-Awsat, al-Heya heads the Hamas Political Bureau branch in the Gaza Strip and is involved in key areas of the movement’s policy, including leading the negotiation team for ceasefire consultations in Gaza.
